    For how long can my tomatoes plants produce tomatoes? I have this nice cherry tomatoes plant and it's giving me some fruits, if I reuse a 45 degrees branch to grow a new plant, will it give me fruits and time before it's too cold?

      Use manure. With moisture it will make fungi, snails will eat them and not your crops

    I have a 12 by 24 square in my backyard. Fenced all around to protect against deer and animals. I do container gardening...tomatoes, cukes, lettuce, spinache, zucchini, eggplants, peppers, strawberries, melons, rosemary, mint, basil, and other herbs. My backyard is fenced all around by 50ft tall pines but it's on the west side so I get about 7 to 8 hrs full sun. I've had a few years to THINK about space and what strategies would work best. I learned quite a bit...my biggest jump in observable data. My fence is topped all around with grape vines (so many grapes this year). I let the melons vines go across below the grapes. The outside of the fence on the west, south and north side has raspberry and blackberry bushes. An additional layer of protection against wildlife. The rest of any free space I let grow anything that grows there, even weeds. I pick them before the seed stage and just throw on top of my walking space as composte. Same with leaves from from a mulberry tree that decided to grow in a corner of my backyard. Almost nothing goes to waste snd gets recycled into organic matter. But the most important thing is, I use no pesticides. The bugs eat the mint, lemon balm, perilla (they prefer those over anything else) and leave all the vegetables and fruits alone. A few strawberries are sacrificed. The thing I focused on...harvest enough for 3 people to enjoy fresh veggies and fruits every day. That should be every person's goal, especially in the city.

    Thank you, this is my first year growing lettuce that have ‘heads/hearts’ so this was informative. I’m used to growing the lettuce that can grow like a grass where you can cut it pretty low and it’ll just grow right back

    I have lots of dates seeds that I oven dried and planning to drink as substitute for coffee.. do you think I can grind these seeds just as coffee grounds for galangal, ginger and curcumin plants?

    • @adiidi
      @adiidi 2 дні тому

      According to a website I found, date seeds are "generally used as animal feed, poultry and soil fertilizers", so after you use the grounds for coffee you can spread them around your plants! 🌸

    those coffee grounds aren't organic and have unatural flavors/additives... doing that occasionally or annually is fine but every time you drink a coffee is extremely excessive and toxic and make ground acidic... it s no natural and better to add the pods to a compost first

    Awesome! I use this for my backyard nursery for plants to sell! This way I don’t have to buy as much seed starting materials which helps me save $! Instead i sow %60 of what plant I want then once they are about a foot out so tall and take 3 clippings of each plant and bam! Now I have 4 times the plants! And it gives me multiple waves of plants to sell instead of all my plants of one kind being all gone at once. This way I can have more waves of cash since they are different ages I will be able to sell multiple species throughout their growing seasons and therefore more of a selection which people like! They don’t typically ever return if you only have a few species of plants to sell everytime they have stopped by. Instead of you have lord of options everytime they come by then they are wayyyy more likely to come back! Just a tip to others! I own and full time run a construction/handyman business and a landscaping business. 5 crews of 6 men on construction crews and 4 crews of 4 men each landscaping crew. I just started my backyard nursery about 2 years ago. It started as growing my own plants to use for my landscaping and lawn maintenance company for customer’s that want plants so I could make that profit myself for me and my soon to be family to eat off of instead of the nursery in town that is not hurting for business one single bit (they have a contract with the Augusta National and grow all their plants and make millionsssss doing it for them!!!) so I really don’t care at all that I took it from them. They don’t need it I promise. But then it started by word of mouth and having weekend plant sales that were bringing some Really good money in! And veryyyyy quick
